Cross-border payment scenarios

Overseas payments: subscriptions, ads and shopping

Use Pikabao virtual cards for software subscriptions, advertising bills and overseas purchases. Compare six uses, fees and merchant requirements. Issuing starts at $1 with no monthly or annual fee; choose only the cards you need.

Check three payment requirements before choosing a card

Choose a card using payment purpose, regional requirements and payment schedule. Check fees and available card funds against the actual bill.

Payment purpose

Identify software subscriptions, online shopping or advertising expenses. Check whether the merchant accepts virtual cards and the selected segment supports the transaction category.

Region and billing details

Check account region, available payment methods and billing requirements separately. Filter segments by issuing region when the merchant explicitly requires local issuance.

Payment schedule

For one-off payments, check the amount and authorization holds. For renewals, also check card expiry, available card funds and any further authentication requirements.

Issuing region is not account eligibility

A BIN identifies the issuing region, not residency or platform-account eligibility, and does not guarantee payment approval. Use the supplied card details and follow the merchant's billing requirements.

This table is an initial guide, not a guarantee for every listed merchant. Check specific services in platform guides, then compare product requirements in the card selection guide.

Four card-selection requirements

Start with accepted methods

Network acceptance: compare only networks the merchant accepts.

Review issuance and eligibility

Issuance and eligibility: filter by region when local issuance is explicitly required. Billing country alone does not establish a BIN requirement.

Identify purpose and authentication

Purpose and authentication: distinguish one-off, recurring and ad payments; confirm the segment supports required authentication.

Compare bills and card requirements

Amount, limits and fees: check the bill, card funds, holds and read-only transaction limits.

If you are still unsure after the four rules, default to a Visa virtual card: it has the broadest coverage and suits undecided or cross-category needs. Confirm the merchant accepts the selected segment before payment.

General payments: Visa virtual cards

For subscriptions, shopping and ads where Visa is accepted; check the selected segment.

Regional needs: US virtual cards

A US BIN identifies issuance, not US identity. Choose it under explicit merchant issuance and payment requirements.

Verification and subscriptions: Mastercard

Consider it for accepted PayPal verification and streaming subscriptions, without a reliability claim over other networks.

Payment details, acceptance and funds

CheckFocusAction
Payment detailsCard number, CVV, expiry, address, postal code, name and merchant account detailsFollow card details and merchant requirements; retain the original error
Purpose and authenticationNetwork, category, payment mode and 3DSConfirm the segment with support; do not assume universal acceptance
Funds and limitsBill, holds and read-only limitsCheck each card; account balance is not its available funds

An absent transaction record is only a clue. Check the last four digits, time range, filters and synchronization, then review payment details, funds, limits and authentication alongside the merchant error. Absence alone identifies neither responsibility nor whether a card change will help.

Renewals, purchases and unresolved holds share the funds on a card. A positive balance does not permit every amount: check read-only limits, merchant types and authentication separately. For unclear restrictions, send support the merchant, purpose and amount, not the CVV or verification codes.

Issuing, funding and holding fees

Pikabao separates issuing, account deposits and card funding. Spendable card funds are not all fees.

Fee stageFee terms
Issuing feeFrom $1, as shown for the selected segment
Account-deposit fee$0; minimum USDT account deposit $20
Card-funding fee3%, calculated on the card-funding amount
Holding feesNo monthly, annual or idle fee
Account-balance withdrawal$3 per withdrawal, with a 24-hour security cooldown; separate from merchant refunds

At the same 3% rate, funding $100 costs $3, as do two $50 fundings in total. Fewer cards can reduce issuing fees; fewer funding transactions alone do not reduce this percentage fee. Check pricing and the submission breakdown for other transaction fees.

Account balance and each card's funds are separate. After depositing, fund the payment card and consider an extra $1–3 for the actual bill. This is a funds buffer, not a fixed fee. Transaction limits are read-only; funding does not raise them.

Card preparation for three common needs

AI and software subscriptions

Identify web, app-store or API billing, then review plans, eligibility, authentication and renewals.

One-off shopping and bookings

Check acceptance, delivery and cancellation. For travel, review deposits and on-site physical-card requirements.

Advertising accounts and projects

Allocate card funds by project and set platform budgets and alerts. Card funds and read-only limits are not platform budget controls.

Before choosing a card, list the coming billing period: merchant, purchase channel, currency, expected amount and debit date. Fund confirmed needs first; new purchases or API usage should not consume money reserved for renewals.

Before payment

Review the purchase channel and merchant rules. Confirm a card is needed and the segment fits before deciding how many to issue.

At payment

Compare the order and card record. Distinguish verification, pending authorization and settlement; a message alone is not an order result.

After payment

Save orders, renewal dates, cancellation channels and refund records. A replacement also requires updating saved merchant methods, not just issuing another card.

Virtual-card scope and alternatives

An existing method works

If an existing payment method is accepted, compare fees and effort before opening another card.

Genuine goods and services

Virtual cards pay for genuine goods and services; they provide no receiving account, savings, ATM cash or bank transfers.

Required methods cannot be substituted

A virtual card cannot replace a required physical card, local bank account or other specified method. Local segments still require acceptance checks.

Cards do not change eligibility

Cards do not change service eligibility and must not be used for fictitious transactions, cash-out or evasion.

Explore card types by purpose

Compare card types, fees and issuing options against confirmed merchant requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Do one or two subscriptions need separate cards?

Not necessarily. Share one card when each merchant accepts it and funds and limits cover the bills. Split cards when separate records or funding are useful.

Can one card pay for subscriptions and shopping?

Yes, where the segment is accepted. Renewals, purchases and holds share its funds. Separate cards help management but do not guarantee merchant or account risk isolation.

Does the payment amount matter when choosing a card?

Account balance and each card's funds are separate. After depositing, fund the payment card and consider an extra $1–3 for the actual bill. This is a funds buffer, not a fixed fee. Transaction limits are read-only; funding does not raise them.

Are the quick-reference recommendations fixed?

No. Follow current network, issuance, payment-mode and authentication requirements, which may differ by region or purchase channel.

Which subscriptions suit US virtual cards?

Subscriptions that accept the relevant US-issued segment. A US BIN establishes neither US identity nor eligibility; matching details or network location does not guarantee acceptance.

Are account deposits and card funding charged separately?

Account deposits cost $0 and credit the account balance. Funding a card costs 3%. Balances are separate; check the submission breakdown.

How many cards may an account hold?

Standard users may hold up to 5 unclosed cards; approved advertising users up to 30. Frozen, idle and inactive cards count until closure completes. Idle cards are not automatically closed.

What can transaction records reveal after a failed payment?

An absent transaction record is only a clue. Check the last four digits, time range, filters and synchronization, then review payment details, funds, limits and authentication alongside the merchant error. Absence alone identifies neither responsibility nor whether a card change will help.

What should I record when planning bills?

Record the merchant, purchase channel, currency, expected amount, debit date and last four card digits. Track holds and refunds for orders and cancellation channels for plans. Manage read-only card limits separately from merchant budgets.
