What is a virtual credit card? Card differences
Virtual cards provide online payment details rather than a physical card. Understand networks, funds, billing details and acceptance before choosing a card for your intended use.
Online Payments with Virtual and Physical Cards
A virtual card provides payment details (card number, CVV, expiry date, address, postal code and name) without issuing a physical card. Enter the details and complete required authentication at supported online checkouts. Cards on the same network can use that network’s acceptance infrastructure.
An online checkout uses payment credentials rather than the plastic card itself. A virtual card removes the need to retrieve a physical card, not merchant checks, issuer authorization or required authentication. A payment may involve the following stages; their order and interface vary by merchant.
Submit payment details
Enter card details at a trusted checkout and check amount, currency and purchase. Saving a card creates a payment method; it does not mean a service has been purchased.
Verify the card and payment action
The merchant may use zero-value or small-value checks and may request 3DS. Follow the actual instructions for any code and its source; do not assume every transaction is exempt.
Authorization and available funds
The issuer decides authorization using funds, limits, card status and acceptance rules. A nonzero authorization may temporarily hold funds without being a final purchase.
Confirm the order and settlement
Check the merchant order, service status and card records together. Verification, authorization and order delivery are different outcomes; do not pay again while status is unclear.
Card form alone cannot establish acceptance at a merchant. Use the issuing guide to get started, or compare funding records with payment troubleshooting when an existing card fails.
Payment Details and Product Types
“Virtual credit card” is a common name, but virtual describes form, not necessarily a bank credit line. Cards can have prepaid, debit or credit attributes. Confirm funding requirements, credit availability and supported uses for the specific product.
Pikabao provides card number, CVV, expiry date, address, postal code and name without a physical card. The card face may show only some details; find the rest in your card details. Keep full credentials out of public records.
Card number
Identifies the payment card, not an account deposit address. Provide only the last digits to support and redact the full number in public screenshots.
CVV
The security code used for online payments is available in your card details. It is not an SMS or authenticator one-time code and should not be sent to support.
Expiry date
Enter the month and year in the format requested. A merchant storing an old card does not automatically update it when you issue a new one.
Name
Use the registered card details for payment fields. Identity verification, company name and tax identity require separate truthful information.
Address
Used for billing checks, not as a shipping address or proof of residence. Do not mix address fields serving different purposes.
Postal code
Enter with the registered billing address in the requested format. Do not invent details merely to match the BIN region.
Merchants may identify the network, issuing region, card type and authentication support when deciding acceptance. A standard card number does not mean every website accepts it. Check product pages for Pikabao’s current uses and available segments.
Differences in Everyday Use
| Item | Pikabao virtual cards | Physical cards in general |
|---|---|---|
| Form | Online details, no physical card | Physical card; online or offline use depends on product |
| Funds | Deposit to account, then fund the target card | Debit, prepaid and credit products have different rules |
| Issuance | Online application; time depends on review and processing | Online or branch application; delivery may be needed |
| Multiple cards | Allocate within slot and use requirements | Count and management depend on issuer |
| Region and checks | Check issuance, registered details and authentication | Address and authentication checks may also apply |
| Uses | Online payments within supported scope | Spending and cash features depend on product |
Account balance and each card’s funds are separate. After an account deposit arrives, fund the intended card before using it. Card balance changes with spending and does not reset monthly. Per-transaction and daily limits are read-only; funding does not raise them.
Fund for the actual checkout total or next bill, including displayed tax, currency conversion and unsettled amounts. You may leave an extra $1–3 according to the actual bill. This is a balance buffer, not a fixed fee or a universal tax percentage.
Allocate cards by project, purpose or billing cycle to reconcile bills, distribute funds and manage cards individually. One card per merchant is not mandatory. Separate cards or BINs do not guarantee risk isolation, account independence or higher acceptance. Set budgets and spending caps with the merchant; card funds and read-only limits are not advertising budgets.
Multiple cards can help with bill and fund management. Separating software subscriptions from advertising makes renewal cycles and funding needs easier to track; it is not a way to bypass merchant rules or guarantee risk isolation.
BINs, Billing Addresses and Account Details
Payment details include card number, CVV, expiry date, address, postal code and name; enter the registered details shown for your card. Business name, actual location, tax details and platform eligibility must be checked separately using truthful information. A card address is not a substitute. A BIN describes issuance, not residency or account eligibility.
Check the network, card type, issuing region, merchant category, billing mode and authentication support together. Acceptance is decided by the merchant and issuer. Correct addresses, supported advertising categories or one successful payment do not guarantee another payment.
BIN: card issuance information
A BIN commonly refers to the first 6 or 8 digits used to identify issuance attributes such as the issuer. Third-party lookups may be incomplete or outdated; use current segment information for product conditions. A dollar-denominated bill does not necessarily require a US BIN.
Billing details: payment fields
Use current registered card details for the payment name, billing address and postal code. Shipping address and actual business location are separate information and do not change with the segment’s region.
Platform account: actual eligibility
The merchant may separately check service region, identity or business details. A regional virtual card does not establish local user eligibility. Do not substitute card details for real identity or bypass regional restrictions.
Whether and how address verification (AVS) is used depends on the merchant and issuer. Correct registered details reduce entry errors, but matching a BIN region and address is not a success formula or proof of the leading decline cause.
Supported Online Payment Uses
Acceptance still depends on the current segment, merchant account and checkout requirements, not just a label such as subscription or advertising.
Subscriptions: prepare for the next bill
Check plan, monthly or annual billing, currency and displayed tax. Record the renewal date with the card’s last digits and fund it before billing. Cancel through the purchase channel when stopping a service; freezing the card is not enough. See the ChatGPT subscription guide.
Advertising: separate budgets from funding
Check accepted card types, advertising category and automatic or manual payment mode. Set budgets and spending caps on the advertising platform; card funds cover actual billing. A daily card limit is not an advertising budget. Review payment setup in the Google Ads guide.
Purchases: retain order and settlement records
Confirm the purchase, checkout total and refund rules. Some merchants authorize before settlement; a temporary hold does not establish duplicate spending. Review the original transaction and pending refunds before deciding how to handle an old card.
Card verification: not payment or account eligibility
Adding a method may trigger a zero-value check, small authorization or actual verification charge; distinguish them using platform instructions. Passing verification does not establish receiving capability, subscription activation or acceptance of every later payment. See the PayPal verification guide.
Pikabao does not issue physical cards. Physical-terminal insertion, cash withdrawal and installment credit are outside this service. Virtual cards from other issuers may have different features.
Common Misunderstandings
Misconception: every virtual card offers credit
Virtual describes form, not a credit line or necessarily prepaid status. Pikabao uses account deposits followed by target-card funding; do not treat this service as installment or overdraft credit.
Misconception: sufficient balance guarantees payment
Check balance, read-only limits, card status, acceptance and authentication separately. More funds do not raise limits or fix every decline; balance is not an absolute loss guarantee.
Misconception: a different card region changes identity
A BIN describes issuance, not a change in actual residence, business details or platform eligibility. Different BINs and separate cards do not guarantee account independence or risk isolation.
Misconception: registration completes verification and issuance
Registration, identity verification, security two-step verification and issuance are separate stages. Complete the checks currently required before first issuance, then confirm the card’s actual status.
For an unknown charge or exposed details, promptly freeze or restrict the card as support advises, preserve evidence and contact support. Freezing mainly limits new authorizations; it does not guarantee all existing authorizations, delayed postings or merchant settlement will stop. It does not replace cancellation or pausing ads.
Track the renewal date, payment method and cancellation status in the merchant dashboard. Cancel through the purchase channel. Pikabao sends an expiry reminder one week ahead. Arrange replacement and update the merchant’s payment details; check pending authorizations and refunds before handling the old card. Replacement does not guarantee uninterrupted renewal.

FAQ
Are virtual and physical card payments identical?
Both can use card number, expiry date and CVV for online payments, but acceptance still depends on network, card type, issuing region and authentication support. Pikabao does not issue physical cards or provide physical-terminal insertion, cash withdrawal or installment credit. Check other issuers’ product rules separately.
Which payment details does Pikabao provide?
Payment details include card number, CVV, expiry date, address, postal code and name; enter the registered details shown for your card. Business name, actual location, tax details and platform eligibility must be checked separately using truthful information. A card address is not a substitute. A BIN describes issuance, not residency or account eligibility.
Are card balance and limits the same?
Account balance and each card’s funds are separate. After an account deposit arrives, fund the intended card before using it. Card balance changes with spending and does not reset monthly. Per-transaction and daily limits are read-only; funding does not raise them.
Can a virtual card be used long term?
Track the renewal date, payment method and cancellation status in the merchant dashboard. Cancel through the purchase channel. Pikabao sends an expiry reminder one week ahead. Arrange replacement and update the merchant’s payment details; check pending authorizations and refunds before handling the old card. Replacement does not guarantee uninterrupted renewal.
What should I do after card details are exposed?
For an unknown charge or exposed details, promptly freeze or restrict the card as support advises, preserve evidence and contact support. Freezing mainly limits new authorizations; it does not guarantee all existing authorizations, delayed postings or merchant settlement will stop. It does not replace cancellation or pausing ads.
Is identity verification needed before issuance?
Register with an email you can keep receiving messages at and set a password. Complete the required identity verification before first issuance. Google Authenticator two-step verification protects the account: it is not identity verification or a substitute for reviewing identity documents. Use the official dashboard and never disclose passwords or verification codes.
Does a dollar bill require a US virtual card?
Not necessarily. Billing currency and issuing region are separate conditions. Check network, card type, regional restrictions and authentication together. A US BIN does not establish US residency or guarantee acceptance.
Does successful card verification activate a subscription?
No. Saving a card, verification, authorization, final charging and service delivery are different states. Confirm against the merchant order, subscription status and card records. An amount or verification message alone does not prove purchase completion; avoid paying again while status is unclear.
