Restricting, replacing and investigating exposed card details
For confirmed or suspected exposure, promptly restrict the affected card under current procedures and contact official support. Freezing does not change its number, and no unfamiliar payment does not establish safety. Handle holds, disputes and replacement by actual state while protecting account and verification details.
Prompt restriction of the affected card
For confirmed or suspected exposure, promptly restrict the affected card under current procedures and contact official support. Freezing does not change its number, and no unfamiliar payment does not establish safety. Handle holds, disputes and replacement by actual state while protecting account and verification details.
- Restrict the affected card
- Check the ending and restriction result without waiting for another payment.
- Keep masked evidence
- Record time, merchant and state without sending credentials.
- Plan follow-up
- Review account security, original transactions, replacement and merchant settings.
For credentials entered on unfamiliar pages, screen exposure or unfamiliar payments, promptly restrict the intended card and contact official support. Verify its ending to avoid affecting the wrong card.
No unfamiliar payment does not establish safety, and test purchases are unnecessary. Keep source, time and masked prompts without revisiting suspicious pages or sending money.
Freezing, invalidating credentials and old transactions
Freezing changes neither number nor CVV. A brief quiet period does not justify reuse of exposed details. Arrange closure and replacement under guidance without promising to block all old settlement.
Replacement does not replace investigation, and closure does not refund settled purchases. Keep references and promptly use official inquiry or dispute processes without guaranteed recovery or timing.
For a $10 entry after freezing, check a possible earlier hold rather than assume fresh misuse from the date. Investigate unexplained entries promptly without a fixed observation delay.

Replacement slots, funds and account security
Check account and notification security and unfamiliar logins, updating passwords and authentication as warranted. Never send codes, CVVs, passwords or API keys to support or strangers.
Check slots, holds and refunds. Ordinary users may hold five cards, approved advertising users up to 30; frozen, idle and inactive cards count until closure completes.
Handle the old card and eligible funds under current terms and keep references and credits. Funding a replacement does not reverse transactions; replacement incurs current issuing and funding fees.

Merchant migration and protection of details
List services, renewal dates, defaults and cancellation routes and update under merchant rules. Use the replacement’s own number, CVV, expiry, address, postal code and name rather than every old field.
Do not unfreeze exposed details to avoid interruptions. Ask important services about allowed alternatives. Keep update states, not credential screenshots, without promising uninterrupted or automatic migration.
Update service permissions and billing notices during team handover without shared credentials. Removing public copies does not establish removal of all exposed data; handle credential risk too.

Evidence and follow-up
Act on actual exposure and payment states rather than treat mere suspicion as complete safety. Protect numbers themselves and prioritize full credentials disclosed in untrusted environments.
| Evidence | Prompt action | Follow-up |
|---|---|---|
| Suspected exposure | Restrict and investigate | Account security and replacement |
| Unfamiliar payment | Keep records and contact support | Orders, holds and disputes |
| Confirmed exposure | Do not simply unfreeze old details | Closure, migration and refunds |
