Closure and unsettled funds

Pending authorizations can affect refundable funds and settlement timing. The displayed balance is not necessarily the final refund amount. Card closure and account closure have separate requirements.

Separate transaction states
Identify pending, settled, reversed and refunded records and note their merchants and amounts.
Check unfinished matters
Check renewals, outstanding bills, merchant refunds and disputes. Closing a card does not cancel a subscription.
Check settlement conditions
Before submitting, check the refundable amount and waiting instructions. Ask support to investigate unclear states using the transaction ID.

Card closure, account closure and refunds are different operations. Pending authorizations can affect available funds. Check the relevant page for submission eligibility and unfinished requirements rather than expecting immediate closure in every state.

A hold is not final settlement, but it may become a purchase, be reversed or be adjusted. Waiting does not guarantee full release, and closure does not mean a merchant bill is canceled.

For unused account funds, review prepaid refunds without necessarily ending the account. Funds on a card first require return-eligibility checks. Handle the two fund paths separately.

Holds, available funds and settlement

With $50 of total funds and a $12 hold, the page may show $38 available. Do not subtract $12 again if availability already excludes it. Read the returnable field and applicable conditions separately.

Capturing $12 makes it spent funds; reversing the hold can restore availability; adjusted settlement requires reconciliation to the actual amount. These outcomes are not all full releases.

Link the merchant order, card transaction ID, amount, time and current state. Total balance is not the final refund amount, and authorization and settlement records should not be added without checking their relationship.

Checks for different authorization scenarios

For card verification, identify a zero-value check, small hold or settled payment and review merchant reversal guidance. Small amounts alone do not guarantee automatic returns or decline-count exemption.

A renewal may be authorized but unsettled. Canceling the subscription does not necessarily reverse the current authorization. Confirm whether the current bill remains payable and future renewals are canceled.

Hotels and rentals illustrate general holds, not guaranteed supported uses for these virtual cards. Check requirements for physical cards or in-person verification rather than substituting online payment details.

Unfinished matters before card closure

  1. Review unsettled transactions, merchant refunds, disputes and subscriptions. Confirm refund tracking with support before closing the original card simply to free a slot.

  2. For a partial return, review available funds and conditions such as 48 hours since the last transaction. Use the current returnable field rather than total balance minus an estimated hold.

  3. Submit closure through the page and keep its record, then confirm completion and fund destination. Frozen and idle cards still count toward the allowance; only completed closure frees a slot.

Account closure and fund refunds

Account closure ends the service. Review cards and unfinished transactions before current cooling-off, investigation and refund conditions. Outstanding matters can extend handling; approval is not unconditional.

Account refunds and closure refunds require checking your receiving network, full address, refundable funds and charges. The published $3 per request includes blockchain transfer costs. Past spending and service fees are not remaining principal.

Check the privacy policy for retained data after closure; account closure does not mean immediate record deletion. Keep needed reconciliation records through available processes before leaving, without sharing passwords or full payment credentials.

Published estimates and exception boundaries

The current refund policy lists these processing references. Timing depends on settlement, submission conditions and review, not a guarantee of full return when a hold ends. Dispatch timing is separate from wallet receipt.

If an estimate is exceeded, provide the request ID, original transaction and time for official investigation. Repeated closure or refund requests do not change an unsettled transaction’s progress.

Reconciliation and evidence before leaving

  1. List account balance, card funds and unfinished transactions, marking returnable and refundable amounts separately. Track approved but unreceived merchant refunds without counting them as received funds.

  2. Manage renewals and bills with merchants, then follow card and account pages for fund returns, closure and refunds. Keep each reference; one operation’s state does not establish another’s result.

  3. Confirm card closure, account closure and external receipt separately. For differences, provide transaction and request IDs, amounts and times with full card numbers, CVVs, passwords and verification codes hidden.
