Card closure, refunds and confirmation for account termination
For service termination, handle cards, unsettled transactions and subscriptions before requesting account closure. Check the 24-hour cooling-off period, manual review and refund outcome. For partial unused-balance returns, consider prepaid refunds rather than account closure; data retention follows the privacy policy.
Account closure process and alternatives
For service termination, handle cards, unsettled transactions and subscriptions before requesting account closure. Check the 24-hour cooling-off period, manual review and refund outcome. For partial unused-balance returns, consider prepaid refunds rather than account closure; data retention follows the privacy policy.
- Handle cards and subscriptions
- Check each card’s closure, holds, refunds and merchant renewals, confirming final states.
- Check the account request
- Follow current verification prompts; cooling-off, review and closure occur at different stages.
- Keep exit evidence
- Keep refund requests, receiving network and TxID; closure is not receipt of funds or complete erasure.
Closure is for ending service, not the only way to retrieve funds. For partial unused-balance returns, check prepaid-refund conditions first.
Card closure, submission, cooling-off, review, refunds and account termination are different states. Continue checking later records rather than treat submission as complete exit.
Check subscriptions, holds and refunds before closing cards
List unclosed cards and merchants; cancel unwanted renewals or replace payment methods with merchants. Card freezing or closure does not end contracts.
Check each card’s unsettled holds, refunds and disputes, retain transactions and endings, then close under applicable conditions. Submission does not prove released slots or settled funds.
Confirm final card states and eligible funds returned to the account before account closure. Nominal card balances do not directly establish the total final refund.
Submit closure and confirm identity
Choose account closure and complete actual checks such as password and email code. Verify the official domain, receiving details and request terms; do not share codes with agents.
Keep the request ID and time. For inaccessible email or verification, use official recovery rather than shared or new accounts to bypass confirmation.
Cooling-off, manual review and unfinished items
The current process includes a 24-hour cooling-off period and manual review, not a fixed total payout time. Cancellation eligibility and review completion depend on current prompts and notices.
Unsettled transactions, identity issues or disputes may need resolution first. Track the original request without repeated closure attempts or new orders while waiting.
Receiving network, fees and receipt evidence
Check eligible amounts, your full receiving address, network and $3 fixed fee in the actual refund page. Use currently supported networks and do not compare only address endings.
Confirm payout notice, TxID, on-chain confirmation and receiving-account credit separately. Totals may include unsettled items; closure does not guarantee return of all original outlay.
Access and data retention after closure
Closure does not immediately erase all issuance, transaction and security records. Follow current privacy-policy retention and rights, not old uniform five- or seven-year schedules.
Keep necessary masked statements and tickets before exit. Later registration, identity reuse and record access require separate checks; closure does not guarantee a fresh start or restored closed cards.
Compare retained-account refunds with termination
Choose based on continued service needs, not which button seems faster. Both require checks of refundable amounts and original request status.
| Item | Prepaid refund | Account termination |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Return eligible unused account funds | End account service |
| Cards and account | No need to close all cards and the account solely for this | Handle cards and unsettled items first |
| Processing | Check cooling period and refund state | Confirm cooling-off, review, refund and closure separately |
For two pending merchant refunds, confirm tracking access first. Do not prematurely terminate the account to retrieve a small amount and complicate follow-up.
